Supervisor: Building Administrator or Designee

Tutor hours range from 2-4 hours per week from October through June. Specific days and times will
be based on assignment and will take place during the school day.
Tutors will be trained to facilitate a Socratic method with small groups of middle school students under
the supervision of a AVID classroom teacher.

Specific Duties: AVID Tutors help prepare students for high school and college.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to make a difference
- Personal determination for success
- Good individual and group communication skills
- Attendance at paid training
- Good English, Math and Science skills
- Preferred, current college students
- Meets all District requirements for employment
- Follow District policies and procedures
- Can provide own transportation
