Supervisor: Building Administrator or Designee

Tutor hours range from 2-4 hours per week from October through June. Specific days and times will 

be based on assignment and will take place during the school day. 

Tutors will be trained to facilitate a Socratic method with small groups of middle school students under

the supervision of a AVID classroom teacher.

Specific Duties: AVID Tutors help prepare students for high school and college.

• Good individual and group communication skills
• Attendance at paid training
• Good English, Math and Science skills
• Preferred, current college students
• Meets all District requirements for employment
• Follow District policies and procedures
• Can provide own transportation
