Salary is based on experience as per the licensed salary schedule, plus a comprehensive benefit package including district paid 6% PERS.
General Description:
To lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, physical, emotional and psychological growth and maturation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds a masters degree.
- Holds a valid Oregon Psychological License/Certificate and/or Oregon School Psychologist license.
- Possess interpersonal communication, collaboration and consultation skills to work effectively with the school community including parents.
- Possess knowledge of child development and psychopathology in order to develop and implement prevention and intervention programs for students with a wide rang of needs and disorders.
- Possess functional computer literacy. Knowledge of ESIS computer system preferable.
- Possess the emotional and physical stamina to perform duties as required by the designated task except for temporary disability.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance as defined in District policy and regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with people and agencies and the ability to listen, adapt and be patient in difficult situations.
- Meet all appropriate ethical, professional and legal standards in order to enhance the quality of services and protect the rights of all parties.
- Plan and deliver services which include testing, consulting and counseling students in special education and others experience major personal adjustment.
- Conduct group counseling sessions with adolescents and provide support for students in extreme crisis situations.
- Serve as a resource for parents, counselors, teachers and administrators regarding students with special psychological needs
- Serve as a resource and consult with teachers in special education individually and through Student Intervention Team meetings.
- Have knowledge of family influences that affect students’ wellness, learning and achievement and be able to form partnerships between parents, educators and the community.
- Assess, obtain, interpret, and integrate information relative to student behavior, environmental conditions, and learning.
- Provide staff development opportunities in behavior management, affective education, and counseling.
- Conduct behavior assessment of students with major personal adjustment; plan and evaluate interventions to support teachers through cooperative planning.
- Serve as a case manager for students in out of district placements when appropriate.
- Assist in the transition of special education students between grades and entering kindergarten.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to plan and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to provide psychological treatment and therapy for students K-12.
